Pre-employment Transition Services

Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) is required to make certain services available to youth and young adults, summarized on this page and in the links provided.

These Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) are activities designed to help students with disabilities prepare for future employment. Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) is required to provide certain services, summarized in this handout. These services include:

  • Job Exploration Counseling
  • Work-Based Learning Experiences
  • Workplace Readiness Training
  • Counseling opportunities for enrollment in comprehensive transition or post-secondary educational programs at institutions of higher education
  • Instruction in Self-Advocacy

There are also many services that VR can provide, including services to promote independent living, disseminating information and strategies to traditionally under-served communities, and providing trainings to people who support students with disabilities.

You can learn more about Pre-ETS on the Arizona Vocational Rehabilitation Webpage on Pre-ETS.
